Zoodle Bolognaise

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams beef mince (lean 90%)
  • 1 cup tomato Passata puree
  • 1/2 can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 diced brown onion
  • Seasonings garlic powder, onion flakes, fresh oregano and basil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 - 2 zucchini

*red meat is high in calories so try and limit to only once or twice a week. Alternate this recipe with turkey or chicken mince for lower calories.

DIRECTIONS 

Add a tablespoon of water to a pan and brown mince over low/medium heat. Add onion and cook. Add passata, tomato paste, tinned tomatoes and let simmer for 10 minutes. Season with fresh herbs and choice of seasonings as suggested to taste. Simmer while you prepare the zoodles. 

Zoodles: Use spiralizer to create your spaghetti zoodles. Either steam for 5 minutes until cooked or put in microwave safe bowl and cook on high for 3-4 minutes.

Drain and serve with mince. Option to use konjac noodles if preferred.
